Leash
Developed by a behavior specialist who I met years ago at our local humane society. This leash worked great for Yooper who was a puller. I also felt like I had less risk of him escaping because he could not wiggle out of it. You can also purchase this via Amazon.

Memories
For Betsy, I kept a document noting all the cool or funny things that she did or happened to her, with dates When we adopted Yooper, time was limited because Betsy already had her back issues so I never did anything. Since losing them both, I now keep a small notebook in my purse and when I remember things, I write them down. I can reflect on these notes whenever I want and those precious memories will not be forgotten.
